Two wine glasses were used in making of this library - the bigger and the smaller one. I have found these at my mom´s home sitting there on a shelf, probably waiting for someone to capture their soft, bellish, winterly voices. No wine to pour in, so I have tapped them with my fingertips, knuckles and also a wooden stick to obtain samples of different colors and intensity.

Zilhouette Strings is the collection of all our strings we recorded so far! It includes 7 violins, 2 viola, 7 cellos and 2 basses in total. The musicians we recorded are german-known session and live orchestra musicians. All content was recorded in several recording sessions in our own recording rooms in a close and intimate distance to the instrument in a solo as well as in a trio situation. We have used condenser mics such as Neumann U-87 and TLM 103, Schoeps MK4 as well as dynamic mics such as Sennheiser MD421, AKG D112 among others.

The bawu is a Chinese wind instrument. Although shaped like a flute, it is actually a free reed instrument, with a single metal reed. It is played in a transverse (horizontal) manner. It has a pure, clarinet-like timbre and its playing technique incorporates the use of much ornamentation, particularly bending tones. The bawu likely originated in the Yunnan province of southwest China. It has become a standard instrument throughout China, used in modern Chinese compositions for traditional instrument ensembles.

The electric sitar was introduced in the late 60's, imitating the sound of a traditional sitar by using a special bridge and resonance strings. Undoubtedly a specialty instrument, the electric sitar is typically used in classic rock and modern jazz/fusion styles of music. The model we sampled for Evolution Sitardelic has a semi-hollow pine body with a masonite top, Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and classic "lipstick" single-coil pickups. Its full octave of drone strings add extra resonance and body to the tone of the guitar.
